Through the MO Humanities Outdoors program, the Missouri Humanities partnered with Stream Teams United to provide honorariums for professional educators and storytellers for their annual Paddle MO event. Paddle MO is a five-day, 100-mile educational and recreational journey on the last 100 miles of the Missouri River, beginning at Hermann, MO and ending a mile past the confluence with the Mississippi River.
This video showcases this amazing event that connects participants to the Missouri River and Missouri’s natural and cultural heritage. The MO Humanities Outdoors explores Missouri’s natural heritage and showcases community-based stories to spark thoughtful dialogue about the intricate relationship between people and the environment.
Stream Teams United hosted their first Paddle MO event—a 5-day, 100-mile float down the Missouri River—on September 24–28, 2016.
